Background of upazila administration

Each upazila has an upazila executive officer's office. This office is under the Ministry of Public Administration, under the Divisional Commissioner at the divisional level and Deputy Commissioner at the district level. The Upazila Executive Officer represents the Central Government and assists in the work of the Upazila Parishad at the local level.
